Free Breakfast Club

Tuesdays & Fridays

8:00 am - 9:00 am

Shirley Roloff Center

The Free Breakfast Club began on March 27 2012, with a simple belief: everyone deserves a place where they are welcomed and fed. Hosted by Community Reformed Church, the program opened its doors to offer both indoor dining and drive-through pickup. On the first day, no one came. On the second day, six neighbors shared a meal. Those early mornings laid the foundation for something much bigger.

More than ten years later, the Free Breakfast Club has grown into a consistent point of connection in the community, serving over 200 breakfasts each week—and continuing to grow as relationships deepen and needs change.

The Breakfast Club has always adapted to ensure people are cared for. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when gathering indoors was no longer possible, meals continued through drive-through service from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., or until food ran out. Even without tables and chairs, the sense of care and consistency remained. In 2023, conversations about reopening indoor dining led to a partnership with the Commission on Aging, creating a shared space where volunteers could continue cooking and serving while guests had the option to eat together indoors or pick up meals to go. In October 2023, the Free Breakfast Club found a new home at the Shirley Roloff Center.

Today, the Breakfast Club continues every Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., offering more than just a hot meal. Pancakes or French toast, eggs, and sausage or bacon are served alongside conversation, familiarity, and a sense of belonging. Everyone is welcome—no questions asked.

The Free Breakfast Club is located at the Shirley Roloff Center, 13513 Division Street, Charlevoix, MI 49720.
